Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park is located in Ol Donyo Sabuk, Machakos County near Thika Town, 65 KM north of Nairobi. It is under the administration of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
Ol Donyo Sabuk is a mountain with a peak height of 2,145 m above sea level and offers spectacular and clear views of Nairobi, Mount Kenya, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the surrounding low lands.
The mountain is covered by montane forest.
Fourteen falls on the Athi River is also close which is protected and equipped with a picnic site. It is of religious significance to the local communities.

It has a wide variety of animals which include; the buffalo, bushbuck, Olive baboon, Colobus monkey, Vervet monkey, Syke’s monkey, Kirk’s dik-dik, bushpig, mongoose, Leopard, Reedbuck, Common duiker, Rock hyrax, Bushbaby, Squirrel, Aardvark, Porcupine, Python, Lizard, among others
Many species of birds are also found here which include; sparrow weaver, African pled wagtail, Mourning dove, Augur Buzzard, African hawk-eagle, Sunbird, among others.

Climate & Weather
The driest season is between January and March.
April to June is wet and hot while July to October is warm and dry.
November and December are warm and wet

By Road-Head to Thika and use the Thika-Garissa Road to Makutano Junction and follow the KWS signs to get there
