Marsabit National Park & Reserve is located at Mount Marsabit, Marsabit County, near Marsabit Town. It is under the administration and protection of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
It is 560 km from Kenya’s capital Nairobi and is known for its zebra population, the huge tusked bull elephants, and serving as a Zebra Sanctuary.
Mount Marsabit is covered by a dense forest and has 3 crater lakes that support the wildlife.

It has a wide variety of wildlife which include; the Elephant, Buffalo, Grevy’s Zebra, Greater Kudus, Lesser Kudus, kirk’s Dik-Dik, Giraffe, Gazelle, Beisa Oryx, Striped Hyena, Caracal, Aardwolf, Lion, Leopard, Baboon, black and white Columbus, Blue Monkey, Bushbuck, Suni, among others.
Many species of bird-over 350 species- are also found here and include; the Vulture, falcon, Buzzard, Black Kite, African Fish Eagle, duck, coot, hamerkop, Heron, stork, among others.

How to get there
By Road-Marsabit is 560 km north of Nairobi via Nanyuki and Isiolo
You can enter the park using two gates-the Ahmed Gate with an exit at Karare and the Abdul gate to the Park headquarters.
By Air-you can use Marsabit airstrip near the park’s Main Gate-4 km away.
