Chyulu Hills National Park is in the Chyulu Hills mountain range located in Makueni County under the custody of Kenya Wildlife Services.
It occupies the Eastern part of Chyulu Hills and forms the Northwestern continuation of the Tsavo West National Park.
The Western side of Chyulu Hills is occupied by the West Chyulu Game Conservation owned by Maasai Group Ranches.
The Chyulu Hills formation is a result of volcanic eruptions over time and is still considered active. These hills do not have permanent rivers but seasonal ones that emerge during the wet seasons contributing to the expansion of Tsavo and Gala Rivers and the Mzima Springs.
The hills divide the Tsavo and Amboseli National Park and the surrounding area is the Maasai and the Akamba communities.
Chyulu Hills are green and offers stunning landscape views with blue horizons.

Chyulu Hills National Park Animals/Wildlife
It has a wide variety of animals which include; Buffalo, Elephant, Eland, Black rhino, Wildebeest, Zebra, Lion, Steinbok, Bushbuck, Bushpig, Giant forest hog, Reedbuck, Giraffe, Leopard, Cheetah, among others.
The park also has a wide variety of reptiles which include; Puff adder, Gecko, Tortoise, Lizard, Black mamba, python among others.
Birds are also well represented.

Annual average temperatures are about 25C with the highest ranging about 30C and the lowest ranging at 20C.
There are two rainy seasons namely; the short rains which take place between November to December and the long rains which happen between March and April.

How to get there
By Road-From Nairobi via Kibwezi, you get in through Kithasyo Gate. From Tsavo west, you enter the park through Tsavo west
By Air-there two Airstrips in the Park
